Artist Introduction
Kouhei Asakura
Painter
Born in 1983 in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture.Graduated from Komatsushima Elementary School and Dainohara Junior High School in Sendai before studying oil painting and drawing at Miyagino High School’s Art Department (5th graduating class).Later moved to Tokyo to study design at Bunka Fashion College.

Began working as a painter in 2007.His works are not only showcased in Japan but also internationally, making him a globally recognized artist.

Currently based at the foot of Mount Daisen in Tottori Prefecture, where he continues his creative pursuits.

His themes revolve around "communion with nature" and "the journey of particles in the cycle of life." Everything, both living and inanimate, is made of particles.

A single particle encounters something, fuses, and transforms. Carried by the wind or ocean currents, it travels across the world.

Someday, the particle that was once "you" and the one that was "me" will meet and part again; a mystery he seeks to capture in his art.
